Setting up Email Accounts

Outlook Express

1.      Select the Tools menu and click the Accounts option.

2.      Click on the Mail tab at the top of the dialog box.

3.      Click on Add and then Mail.

4.      Type in your name and then Next.

5.      Click on the radio button for “I already have an email account I’d like to use” and type in your email address given to you by your administrator. Click Next.

6.      Pick POP3 for “My incoming mail server is a ___ server.”

7.      For your incoming and outgoing servers type in your domain name. (ex. www.willsworlds.com) Click next.

8.      Type in your account name and password given to you from your administrator. Check the remember password box if you don’t want to always have to type in your password.

9.      Click Next and Finish.

10.  Now Select the profile for your FYI e-mail account and click the Properties command button.

11.  Click on the Servers tab at the top of the dialog box.

Line Callout 3 (Accent Bar): Note: The settings that appear on this sample will be different than the settings you see on your screen.  ONLY make the changes as stated in steps 5 through 7.

12.  At the bottom of the dialog box, under "Outgoing Mail Server" click in the checkbox next to "My server requires authentication" to enable that option.

13.  Click the Settings command button.

14.  Select the "Use same settings as my Incoming mail server" option and click the OK command button.

15.  Click OK again and then click the Close command button to return to your Inbox.

16.  Restart Outlook.


Instructions for Outlook 98 and 2000 are below……


Outlook 98 & 2000

1.      Select the Tools menu and click the Services option.

2.      Click on Add and choose Internet Email and Click OK.

3.      On the General Tab at the top of the dialog box.

4.      Under the Mail Account box, type a description. (ex. My FYI mail)

5.      Fill out the User Information with your name. Fill in email address you requested.

6.      Click on the Servers tab.

7.      Incoming and Outgoing Mail should be www.yourdomain.xxx (Ex. www.willsworlds.com)

8.      In the Incoming Mail Server type your name and password. (Given to you by your administrator) Click the check box if you don’t  want to always type in your password.

9.      At the bottom of the dialog box, under "Outgoing Mail Server" click in the checkbox next to "My server requires authentication" to enable that option.

12.  Continue to click OK until you are back at your Inbox.

13.  Restart Outlook.
